Cracking the Code on Healthcare - November 21, 2014

You are cordially invited to join us for our next 2014 Cracking the Code on Healthcare event.  The event title is "Creating a Memorable Patient Experience". The event is scheduled for November 21, 2014 at Locust Hill Country Club.

The November event will include these two esteemed national thought leaders.

Susan Sheridan, M.B.A., M.I.M., is the Director of Patient Engagement at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). She is responsible for creating networks and engaging patients across the nation to provide broad-based input on the development and execution of PCORI’s research. Sheridan became involved in patient safety after her family experienced two serious medical system failures. Her husband, Pat, died in 2002 after his diagnosis of spinal cancer failed to be communicated. Their son, Cal, suffered brain damage called kernicterus five days after his birth in 1995 when his neonatal jaundice was untreated.

Susan will discuss the roles of the patient, the family and the provider in delivering better patient-centered care.

Our second speaker is James B. Conway, adjunct lecturer at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston and Senior Consultant, Safe and Reliable Healthcare, Evergreen, CO. From 2006-2009 he was Senior Vice President of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and from 2005-2011, Senior Fellow. His areas of expertise and interest include governance and executive leadership, patient safety, change management, crisis management, and patient-/family-centered care.

Jim will discuss the role of the patient in providing information, data and guidance aimed at helping providers with work process initiatives that improve the patient experience.

This event builds on the knowledge-sharing from the previous 9 events. It is our intention to provide you with the latest thinking on current healthcare challenges as we continue our journey towards Cracking the Code on Healthcare.
